Thaita is sourced from the lands surrounding the Kimandi Factory in Kirinyaga County and this washed Kenyan produces deep, bold flavours in the cup - not your average Kenyan! Thaita is grown by family-owned farms in the rich, volcanic soil of Kirinyaga County and processed at the Kimandi wet mill.
The coffee cherries undergo a meticulous sorting process before being pulped and fermented for 16 hours. The coffee is washed in fresh mountain-tapped water and laid out to sun dry on raised beds for 14-21 days.
Roasted to suit espresso to express the bold flavours of the cup, you can expect notes of black cherries, a prominent marzipan aroma and flavour throughout. Expect a jammy sweet finish and subtle notes of dark fruits, florals, and plums that adds complexity throughout the cup.
When brewed for filter and aeropress, notes of dark chocolate and plums become more prominent, with a juicy acidity and reduced sweetness.
